Living life with energetic integrity

We live life as if we are merely human and human life is merely physical, but deep down we have a nagging sense, a knowing even, that this is not true and that we are far more than we pretend to be.

We have experiences in life that give us a sense of the wonder, the mystery and the absolute beauty that is possible … when we hold a baby in our arms and drop our guard and feel how much we can love another being … when we truly open up to our lover and merge with them into oneness … when we meet someone for the first time and know we have known them before … when we look up at the stars and feel an old familiar feeling … a sense of connection, expansion and timelessness …

So why is it that we live a life where these experiences are fleeting moments in an otherwise dull and mundane day, rather than living in a way where this is our everyday experience of life?

From young, we are raised to focus much more on the act of doing life than on the quality of our being.

From the moment we first smile, crawl, stand, walk, we are applauded for doing things, for achieving, surmounting obstacles, attaining peaks, and berated for not doing things, like dishes, making beds, homework, or our hair.

Life becomes a constant struggle to do things that get us recognition and acceptance, and to not do things that attract disapproval or rejection.

We become more and more focussed on these outer achievements and the approval of others, and less and less aware of the inner quality of our being, and the quality in which we are doing all these things.

But we live in a world where we are energy first, and then material human beings, and the quality of the energy in which we do all these things matters enormously.

We can do the same task in a rush, a drive, seeking to get it done as quickly as possible to move on to the next one, to tick a box, or to gain the approval or avoid the censure of others.

Or we can do it in a way that deeply appreciates who we are, and the lovely quality of our being, and we then bring this appreciation to every task we do, understanding that everything we think, say and do matters, and that the quality in which we do it affects everyone and everything around us. For we live in a world where we are all connected by energy, and the vibrations of that energy flow out from us … to, around and through everyone and everything around us.

Living life with this understanding carries more responsibility, which is something we like to avoid, and is largely why we choose to live life in ignorance of energy. For how can we do, say and think whatever we like when we know it affects other people? And how can we behave as selfish individuals when we know that in essence we are all the same, and at heart, all one?

But living life with awareness of the fact that we are energetic beings also empowers us tremendously to know that the way we are matters so much, not just to us but to everyone around us, that it is worth living life with energetic integrity, that the quality of our being matters just as much as, if not more so, than what we do, and that we can make such a difference in everything we think, say and do, in a world where everything is energy.
